The Tate MediSpa offers a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures. The surgical procedures include neck liposuction and eye lift. Non-surgical procedures include Botox® injections, laser hair removal, and CoolSculpting®. You can receive these treatments from our resident Lebanon plastic surgeon, Dr. John Tate.
What Is an Eyelift?
An eye lift, more formally known as a blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure done on the eyelids to correct drooping, puffiness, or bags. It does not, however, reduce crow’s feet or other wrinkles. Our Lebanon plastic surgeon may work on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids, or both. In the last case, Dr. Tate will typically work on the upper eyelids first. If the surgeon is working on both sets of eyelids, the procedure will take between one and two hours.
Dr. Tate will administer a local anesthetic paired with a sedative to keep the patient comfortable. When working on the upper eyelids, they will make an incision along the crease of the eyelid to make any scars less visible. They will then remove any excess fat and skin. For the lower eyelids, the surgeon will make an incision below the eyelashes and remove excess fat.
What Is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting®, also known as cryolipolysis, is a non-surgical body contouring treatment. It is similar to liposuction in that it is used to remove fat and can be used on many parts of the body.
Unlike liposuction, Dr. Tate won’t make any incisions, and there is no recovery time. Instead, our Lebanon plastic surgeon will use a device that produces intense cold to freeze the fat cells. Neighboring tissues won’t be harmed, for fat has a higher freezing point than do other tissues. The frozen fat cells will die and eventually be expelled by the body.
